Whales and other mostly swimming things

Little report from a nice ocean trip over the weekend.

First, some views:

At some point this thing swam by us before taking off and flying away:

Then pod of killer whales came to look if there was anything edible on our boat:

These are resident orcas, mostly eating salmon. Now, when transient orcas are in town, they take these guys right off the rocks:

That would a photo to take! Well, no such luck. Instead we found this grey whale swimming right near the shore. Residents of this house can do whale watching right from their windows:

Thing is a bit lazy, that was all it showed us. As a consolation, bald eagle came closer and let me take a shot:

Flowers with difference

Let's face it - flowers, as pretty as they are, can be quite a boring subject of photography. Everyone photographs them, they are after all pretty much the same... It takes a certain effort to try and make them look different, more striking. Below is my attempt at it - successful or not.
